HOLME HIDEAWAY!

Each week some classes have a slot in the 'Hideaway' and will be taking their learning outdoors in line with the 'Nature Friendly Schools' approach, lead by their classroom teacher.

Autumn Term 2021 Year 5 have been involved in 'Forest School' Sessions Lead by Mrs Lenz. More information on the 'Forest School' Approach can be found on the Forest School Information for parents section.

A new space at school!

We have some very exciting news to share with you that our first year group were able to take their learning in our new outdoor classroom!

Lots of work behind the scenes has been going on to get this area ready for your children to be able to enjoy. And after over 2 years I can say Reception class had a fantastic afternoon out there yesterday.

The land behind of school to the right has been fenced off and cleared of significant rubbish, with a firepit, pathways and shade sails installed to create a natural woodland environment to take learning outdoors.

I'd like to take the opportunity to ask you to help protect this area, from public misuse, and keep it a safe clear area for your children to learn.

All that's needed now is a name for it! A competition within school will run for name ideas and we will whittle it down and put it to a vote if there are too many!

We would love the name to be linked to our community so if you have any suggestions please message Mrs Lenz know on the gate.

Thank you!
